Role Overview:

We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer-Sr. Role with expert-level AWS skills and a deep understanding of core infrastructure and data center operations. This is not a role for an AWS user—this is for someone who fully grasps how AWS services map to foundational DevOps principles.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and manage infrastructure using AWS, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance.
• Apply deep understanding of data center operations to build resilient systems, including:
  – Web and application server configuration
  – Load balancing, failover, and redundancy strategies
  – Health checks, monitoring, alerting, and logging (e.g., Splunk)
  – IP whitelisting, network security, and access control
• Translate traditional infrastructure practices into cloud-native implementations using AWS services.
• Maintain secure, compliant, and reliable environments across development and production systems.

Requirements:

• Proven expertise in AWS infrastructure, services, and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of traditional hosting environments and core DevOps concepts.
• Hands-on experience with server configuration, monitoring tools, logging solutions, and security practices.
• Ability to reason about infrastructure from a first-principles perspective, beyond cloud tool familiarity.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Positive, solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to support a volunteer-driven organization.
